Cylinder Walls
Search, read then faq's then ask a question if you can't find it in either of those. The short is that sleeve failure isn't really attributed to boost pressure, but rather to the stresses caused by the power made by the engine. 400hp has been proven to be a fairly safe limit on stock sleeves. GL.
my buddy pushed 10psi in a stock B16 and blew the bitch up....cant tell if it wa the piston that cracked the wall or if it was the wall that cracked the piston....i wouldnt go no more that 8 on a stock one....do you have aftermarket pistons and rods?

BAD TUNE!! It has little to do with boost, the same boost with different setups will produce very different power levels. Don't spread misinformation. From the way you describe your friend blowing up his engine it tells me that there was something wrong with the engine bulid/tune. You give no information except what the boost level was and that the engine was a b16. If you are going to make an assertion about this at least give some information.
What was the car tuned on?
Stock block?
Reputable tuner?
Fuel setup?
How high was the engine rev'd to?
ect, ect, ect..........
Beerbong is right, but he is referring to and engine using race gas and a tuner who was really pushing the limits of the engine.
