Default engine build up on an h22a1

just wondering what you can get away with in terms of builiding up an h22a. I know that the ringlands are the weakest point and that stock rods can handle quite a bit of power so can you get away with simply replacing the stock pistons?

Also, if you do just replace the stock pistons, are there aftermarket pistons that can handle boost and not require you to resleeve the cylinder walls?

i belive that you will have to sleeve the eng to change to a forged pistion but check out this site and see if the sell any that don't require sleeving. As for power maybe 250-275 whp @6-7 psi on stock internals....Tuning! http://www.raceeng.com

It's not that the sleeves can't handle the boost, it is that the material the stock sleeve liners are made of (FRM) don't seem to handle aftermarket pistons well. This thread may be of use to you: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=416069
