Custom turbo on f23a1 Accord possible?
I've read all the posts about f23a1 accords but all I can find are Fmax turbo kits...no custom kits at all....is it because of the OBD-2b system? Or are there other reasons for which I'm unaware? Would it be better to convert to ODB-1 then turbo?...I read that ODB-2b systems don't like boost at all because they want to correct the "imperfection"(boost)....if I converted, what is the ECU that I should look for for a boosted F23a1 in an 98 Accord? Thanks for the imput.

A custom kit is not different then a prefabed kit expect you pick the parts.
I supose you could convert to obd-1 and run a ecu from a 94-95 accord

if you were to convert to obd1... skip the p0a and go right to a p28 in my opinion.

If I were to start looking on eBay as well as HT.com, what turbo manifolds should I be looking for? Obviously, f23's....are there others that will fit?

anyone...what other applications can look for? I have had no luck finding any f23a1 specific turbo headers....other engines' fit?

I have a turboed f23a1 and i would not boost it unless you get hondata. I did the shitty fmu set up and am now doing hondata and obd1 conversion. f23's make very good power on conservative boost and even better torque. I did a custom set up with a south florida performance manifold turbonetics t3/to4e turbo and i got the spearco intercooler and piping from the drag turbo kit made for 98-00 accord. ill post up some numbers soon on what i make with hondata.

well my first motor only lasted about 2 months on 7 psi, and on the dyno i leaned out very bad even on 7 psi, so with the hack theres not much room for more fuel, i did have stock injectors so that was part of the problem but hondata and big injectors is much more efficient for making power and consistent a/f.

might need to get a fuel pump too.
I figure I'd be aiight wth a intank fuel pump, larger injectors and the AFC hack.

It's safe insurance, but if you have large enough injectors your stock fuel pump will be fine.
He leaned out because he was trying to run stock injectors and the v-afc, which IMO is stuipid to even try attempting.

I was going to go the FMU way....crude but effective. I'm just not sure how the OBD2 system will like that....I might need to convert to OBD1....anyone ever heard of MIL eliminators? They use them on Mustangs etc...to trick the O2 into seeing normal O2 readings....would something like that work of Hondas? I'm not at all sure how OBD2 systems work, but from what I've read, they don't like any modifications at all and if they sense any abnormal fuel readings(via O2, I assume), they will cut or add fuel depending on need......not good for FI....because lack of fuel=dead engine! So, can the O2 be tricked or is the problem somewhere else, like MAP, or other sensor(s)?
