Custom Traction bars...
FWI
Lakewood is developing their own traction bars, including a titanium set-up. Looks similar to the Z10 kit, but haven't seen anything other than this pic.

In that drawing in the first pic, the traction rod is located along the same axis, but it doesn't necessarily rotate on the same axis as the LCA. Only way to make that happen is if you locate the heim joint in such a way that an imaginary line can shoot through all three points (the heim joint hole, and the two bushings for the LCA). Only then would you truely have a no-bind traction arm. Wouldn't be too hard to make a crossmember and mounting box to locate the heim joints like that
Edit: Scratch that idea. I keep forgetting that Heim joints have spherical movement and aren't bound to any one axis. Doh!

The funniest part about all this is that I was talking to Jim a month or so ago and told him "hey, you should look at these z10 bars, comp eng also makes them, you should make something like this and you could sell a ton of them". I didn't know he already had them in development! They look awesome just like I knew they would!
spherical bearings move in any (almost) direction. Good stuff.
Ill take some pics of the suspension setup i built for my 7S toyota, horizontally mounted 1" spherical lower bearings, a 3/4" vertical heim, with high misalignement spacers on each, those sphericals CYCLE, its pretty neat.

well, I should've mentioned that the car is up on jackstands waiting for an engine rebuild. Thats why I was thinking of just sending out the radius rods, crossmember, hardware, or cad drawings + dimensions with it on the car. If someone builds it to that, then it should fit.
these things really work!!!! listen to jeoff, he speaks the trouth! Keep biulding your own parts, it is the only way to lean. just remember to biuld them safe. it is easyer to over biuld something and take away than it is to replace your car.
Jim lives!!!! He was having problems talking on HT...I guess he figured it out.

He was having problems with the IM because he was a trial user, but I took care of that. Mine should be here sometime this week and I'll let you know how things come out.

out of curiousity, how do you guys build traction bars... what type of material and tools are involved? I'm a DIY person, and im broke at the same time
Just seeing if its possible to make my own and save some cash. I mean, its great hearing all you guys willing to do custom work for other people, but custom work for other ppl usually means $$$...
Well, what are the important things that you guys have to rmemeber when building traction bars?
