i have asked a similar question before but i would like to know why so many people say this CTR N1 pulley breaks cranks because its not a damper like an oem gsr pulley, yet honda designed it for their rev happy civic type r.
I put this in FI because i would like to know what people think about it being put on my 2.0L b18c turbo motor.
thanks, doug

the high reving happy ctr wasnt boosted from the factory. higher power makes harmonic resonance different. (or so i have been told)
also at a certain et, you need an sfi balancer technically anyway.

when making power on a boosted application there is alot more harmonics (vibration) in the crankshaft and flexing of the crank the higher the hp gets. the damper is designed to obsorb the harmonics to keep from cracking the oil pump and bearing failure or possibly worse. the n1 pulley is junk unless on a stock type r motor even then i wouldnt use it. the tiny bit of weight saved doesnt come close to the usefullness of a good damper
