Default Crome

Im aware that there are better options out there, but I dont really want to dish out the money for the Hondata or AEM...so Im pretty much set on this.

I know the software is free and that I will need a chipped ECU...but aside from that what else do I need for this? Ive heard I might need a wideband 02 but is that absolutely neccesary? Im new to boost, I know what engine management systems do but am almost completely clueless as to how they work and what is needed for them to function. Any help or info would be appreciated.

pgmfi.org is a good place to start.

You will need a wideband, chip burner, ostrich(optional), Hulog(optional) and if your not comfortable doing all this, why not take it to a competent tuner to help you meet your goals without messing your engine up.

besides, this is the wrong forum to post this info. there is a engine management section that would be able to help you a little better.

pgmfi.org and tunewithcrome.com

Again Im new to this so my bad if this question seems stupid...but a tuner could probably provide those things right? As long as I provide the chipped ECU, cause yea Im definitely nowehere near capable of tuning myself.

And thanks for the links peeps.

yes and no, some tuners don't support what we call freeware because of instability of the program, so it's really up to your tuner wether he will have everything or if he will not be able to tune that program. some just tune hondata or neptune or AEM. you gotta look for a tuner in your area. where are you loccated? I can look for you

Yea Im aware some tuners only tune certain programs, it was more of a general question about wether crome tuners could provide all those things...Im glad to hear that they do or atleast notable ones do. For the ecu though, mine's obd2b I believe (97' civic ex)...Im pretty sure I need an obd1, I have a virgin p28 laying around that I picked up awhile back which Im certain would work fine. Am I correct in assuming that? I could probably get the tuner to chip it for me right?

And Im from Texas...I know people that should know local tuners though so I'll just make some calls and ask who tunes this program.

if you can afford, try to use a better system hondata/neptue/ectune. crome does work but if u have extra to spend, its a good investment...
