Default Crated import performance motors

Has anyone bought, or researched one of these? Im aware of only 2 places that do this: Importbuilders.com and JGEnginedynamics.com
The reason for just a complete drop in motor is that i dont feel the need for hassle over compliant parts, yea, i may pay a shade more but in the end i think it would work out better.

Im not looking for any monster motor, just something i can get 250whp with my JRSC@9psi with the ability(and strength) to add a small N02 shot

Im just really all messed up right now, and not sure what to do. Id like to just get new, and be done with it.

If any of you can help me or enlighten me, id appreciate it.

Thank you,
Tony

I did not buy anything from them, but I sent them an email asking some questions about the crvtec block (5 questions to be exact). I receiced a reply answering one question, and saying for $14,000 (I did not ask about price) that they would build me the "ultimate engine for my honda." I don't know how nice there engines are, but there forum kinda makes me wary of the people there. Again, they could all be great guys; some things don't come across well in type (as opposed to verbally). So if they build good engines than yay for them. I am just sharing my correspondence with them.

i mean if the 14k includes everything besides the block the turbo kit and injectors and the standalone tuned and broken in thats fine. but if not then its not worth it.

For $14K it better have titanium connecting rods, billet crank, titanium valves, I can't even think what it would have to have to get to $14K.

Here is a breakdown of what I'd consider the "ultimate"

B18C1 or girdled B18A/B shortblock- $800
B18C1 or B16 head- $400
Alaniz porting, upgraded ss valves, springs, retainers- $1800
GE Resleeving- $750
Bore/hone- $120
Crower rods- $700
Wiseco/JE pistons- $500
Prodrive oil pump gear- $280
New water pump- $130
New bearings- $180
JG intake manifold- $350
New seals, ARP studs, misc. etc- $250
balancing- $200
driveshaftshop stage 3 axles- $800
GSR tranny- $700

Titanium rods add $1000
Total is $8000 or $9000 w/the special rods. Add an AEM EMS for $1300.
$14K is a lot.

if you want 250whp with a jrsc at 9psi you don't need a crate motor.

I understand the 250whp without a crate motor, i practically HAVE 250 now with the JRSC@9psi. Id just like reliability with it this time. This current motor has been JRSC boosted for 74,000 miles, the car has 82,000 miles on it.

Maybe i can just buy a NEW B18C1 from Acura?

Previously quoted by someone who OBVIOUSLY doesnt have a clue: Not only that, but they have the thermal dynamics of a toaster oven. They don't call 'em JR E-Z Bake Ovens for nothin'! Roots blowers belong between carbs and big ******* V8s. Not behind a 4 banger
What part of my above post do you not like? The part that ive ran a boosted stock motor for 6 years and still really dont have MAJOR PROBLEMS? Or is it the fact that ive roadraced/autox/dragraced/dailydriven that same car for those same 6 years? Hmmmm, 6 year old boosted HOnda that can run 12's on slicks. Man, that JRSC does suck.
