cracked sleeve
i got this LS block for free from a friend and im wondering if it can be resleeved , i know people sleeve their motors all the time but if the sleeve is cracked as pictured can it be sleeved ? i know if the crack is small it can be but to what extent. heres a pic of the cracked sleeve.

IIRC, some machinists won't sleeve a block with severely cracked sleeves because it affects the process they use to cut out the original liners. That would be a machinist dependent issue. I'm sure you can find someone who will sleeve it. There's nothing wrong with the actual block itself.

thanks for the info , im looking to get a block from golden eagle im not sure if i need to send them a core or what ? if not this block is going to the recyclers minus the crank

So it looks like you can buy a pre-sleeved block from one of those GE distributors. Import Parts and Camp 1320 are the only two in CA, which would mean the cheapest shipping to HI.
FYI, in order to recycle that block, you'll have to find a way to pull out the iron liners. The aluminum should be worth about $30-35 at the recyclers.
