Basically for any setup (whether it be 10lbs or 30lbs.+) I would run 10.0-10.5:1... If you're intending on running it primarily on pump gas then I would probably drop it down to ~9.0:1 as you're getting a little out of reach with the boost numbers you want... Lane's stock sleeved B18C runs 9.5:1 slugs, Eagle rods, Portflow head, Hondata, and a T3/T04E... His car runs ONLY on 92 and gets away just fine with 12lbs. making 375whp... Could you push it up a little higher, yea I'm sure you could but it's just keeping everything safe... Just my $0.02

im hoping for

sleve my gsr block 81.25 bore
eagle rods
acl bearings
pistons to be chosin soon
skunk2 valves and springs
skunk2 ratainers
gsr cams
sst mani
t3/t04e turbo
some kinda intercooler
hondata with boost

do you think i should go for a bigger bore since im getting it done anyways? also ill be running on 91 octane pump gas most of the time. im at 5300 ft here in denver so that should help me out some

do i need to get a sleved block to run 14lb boost? im really going for relibality since this is also my daily driver. i dont wana blow the block up later because i cut a few corners

Anytime anyone asks me if they should sleeve a motor I'm going to say YES but that's because if you're building the rest of the motor why not just spend what it's going to cost to ensure that your sleeve will probably (put it this way, a lot better odds than with a stock sleeve) never crack... I would keep your bore to the minimum you can still overboring (so 81.25-81.50mm is perfect) assuming you still run stock sleeves... I'm sure you could get away with 14lbs. and 9.0-10.0:1 which is a really nice street setup as long as you have proper tuning... Remember tuning is everything and your power/reliability is going to come from that... It should also do pretty well at the track, described above is Lane's setup (which he has been running for about two and a half years now) in his full interior EJ6 (weighing ~2600lbs.), he drives it to the track on pump, throws on his slicks and runs consistent 11.50's in the 125mph range... That's not super fast or anything but it seems pretty good considering what he's moving...

In the end if you do stick with stock sleeves (which is absolutely fine) don't set a boost level that you want... Try 10lbs., 12lbs., etc and just don't get too greedy... Build your motor then work with the boost around your setup...
