calling all guys using cp piston what power are you making with standard wrist pins what power have you broken wrist pins i called cp and a guy there told me max 500hp that seemed a little low for aftermarket pistons im trying to get a reliable hp rage for standard wrist pins i also think rev limit plays a role not sure

They can't know the answer to that question. Its almost an impractical question to ask. You'll be fine running them over anything the car can handle for any practical amount of power over 600-700whp. You're just going to get a lot of dyno numbers of one pull of people with CPs going over the 500whp limit on this thread. If you're concerned of the matter of longevity, that's based more on the REST of the engine assembly and tune.

Re: cp pistons
I have cp's in mine and I was told by mike laskey, my engine builder, the engine is good for over 700. I am not really sure which pins are in there. All I know I paid for pauter rods and cp pistons. I am pushing 500 on the engine its self. hope that helps...

Re: cp pistons
if your really concerned just upgrade the wrist pins. hell straight from cp the 1000hp+ wrist pins are only $150. you can prolly get them cheaper from a dealer.

Re: cp pistons
His motor is built and in the car already, probably wants to know the limit of said motor without having to pull it and rebuild
Personally if a stock wrist pin can hold 500whp then why cant an aftermarket hold more even being a standard pin. IDK about 800 but500-650 it should be alright with a good tune. RPM also plays a role in wrist pin fatigue, there are alot of forces at work when you really start cranking up the revs

Re: cp pistons
I think the CP pins should be fine, but what do I know. I've seen guys take their pistons to 900whp without issues with an off-shelf piston. Drag engines.
Again, the pins on your engine may be different, but it is hard to sweat it when you don't really hear of breakage much.

Re: cp pistons
yeah im just gonna see what i get with my fuel setup which would be low 600's save up some money and rebuild the motor later on with upgraded wrist pins and go for more power and stop worrying about it lol

X2 ^^
The only time I've seen the wrist pin needing upgraded, is on 900-1000+hp. I know plenty of people making over 700 with zero issues.
