Could this be the reason why some people hate 62403s with boost and some love them
I recently had a set of Crower 403s and they worked wonderful with my turbo while some people said that they sucked. I recently was getting ready to order a new set since i sold my 403s and i was considering ordering a custom cam so i was comparing specs from differnet cams. To make a long story short i had Crower fax me the specs on all their cams and i compared them to the cam cards that came with the set of 403 cams i had. Here is the differences.
Heres what was on the cam card i got with the cams (i bought them about a year and a half ago)
intake DUR 238 LIFT .425
exhaust DUR 237 LIFT .413
INTAKE opens -1 ATDC
closes 31.0 ABDC
EXHAUST opens 40.0 BBDC
closes -8 BTDC
lobe seperation 110 degrees
Duration @ .050" lobe lift intake 210 deg
exhaust 212 deg
intake .243
exhaust .236
cam centerline should be installed on a degree of 106
Here is what they faxed me
INTAKE opens -3.5 ATDC
closes 34.5 ABDC
EXHAUST opens 42 BBDC
closes -12 BTDC
Lobe seperation 113 degrees
Duration @ .050" lobe lift intake 211 deg
exhaust 210 deg
intake .243
exhaust .236
cam centerline should be installed on a degree of 109
I am looking at both of these supposed cam specs and i have triple checked all the part #s and i am looking at the same cam cards. Could this be the reason why some peo-ple hate 403s with boost and some love them. If anyone has any inside info could you clear this up. Or life close to Crower could you call them. Im all the way in PA and the last thing i need is another 200 dollar phone bill. Their phone # is 619-422-1191

ttt
I want to hear more about this. Im not sure about what all that cam stuff means, does it mean crower changed the 403's in the last year and a half?
Im trying to decide between the 402's & 403's for my b18b, not sure what I want though yet. Anyone with a turbo'ed LS w/402's who noticed a huge jump?
