Default Could it be done??

I was thinking,

I have never heard of anybody building an 8 valve motor. (yeah prolly because it is a stupid motor to build)

but I was thinking, could you build a sohc 8 valve 400whp motor?

on 93 octane?

Sure you can. When it's a 2.3L ford stroked out to almost 3 litres on a tall deck block, with the head hogged to all ******* hell and back, and running a giant turbo.

I honestly don't think anyone has cracked 400 WHP on straight up 93 octane with a 16-valve SOHC honda, leaves me nothing to believe you could do it with less head flow.

i would think it can be done.
are you talking in terms of say a cx motor?
on pump i dont know. it comes down to how good the engine works and moves air.

yeah CX.

i have a CX head laying around im gonna analyze the thing and see how much it could be ported.

i bet if the combustion chamber could be re worked a bit and a few millimeters ( )added to the valves the head wouldnt be that bad with some porting.

fully built d series block would be needed though.

And even with a few mm larger valves you still aren't touching the capabilities of a 16v head. A good comparison, IMHO, is modular ford engines. A 4.6 with 2V heads will max out at about 600-625 RWHP on pump gas. A 4.6 with 4V heads is 900+ RWHP capable on pump gas. Pretty massive difference.

And especially with this setup, why even bother handicapping yourself to an 8V sohc? Just run a 16v head, it's not like they're expensive.

S-10 SOHC
patriot performance stage 2 head
crane custom grind cams
and way to many other mods hit around 300hp crank but only 230Whp
side note the S-10 2.2L block is basically a 2.2L cavi motor

Bull-*******-**** on a head that barely hits 200 CFM's of air on the intake making 230 RWHP on a naturally aspirated 4-cylinder. Did you forget to mention the 75 HP shot of nitrous? Way to pull that one out of your ***.

You sound dumber and dumber every time you post. Are you going to tell us now you custom engineered a SOHC 8 valve head for your make believe EVO8/9 you said you owned, pulled the turbo off and made 250 AWHP?

School my *** pretty good on what? You said 404's were bigger than CTR cams, you were wrong and off by a ton.

And I looked at patriot performance, and their 2.2 head flows, like I said, a whopping 200 CFM's on the intake. Takes a lot of boost to make 400 WHP out of a small motor with a head flowing 200 CFM's

And what the expletive does a 2.2L truck motor making 230 WHP have to do with trying to hit almost double that on a smaller motor with an even smaller head? Keep your "technical" bullshit to hondahookup from now on, maybe they'll believe the cars you pretend to have.
