well today it did something else crazy. Temp gauge was steady and seemed normal. light came on. I clicked the key off then on and the light went out, but the strangest thing was the temp gauge dropped a good bit when I did that. that motor never even shut off when I did it. Coolant temp sensor?

i would do as the others suggested. get a better fan/shroud, get a turbo blanket, etc before cutting the bumper. i have the exact same problem, at speed the radiator doesnt get enought airflow so temps start to creep.

someone suggested pulling the bumper off. i would do that and log temps in s300 and see how it does. if temps stay in check you know you have an airflow problem. if none of the other suggestions take care of the problme then as a last resort cutting the bumper should help. just wont look pretty IMO

i even have the spal 13" but no shroud, temps will creep on really hot days, common turbo honda problem since the FMIC hogs all the airflow

The car in your sig has IC piping exactly like mine so if that is what youre running Id say we have the same issue. I got a coolant temp sensor today just for peace of mind but I really think it is air flow

I think not having a shroud is killing you. I bet if you put a stock fan setup on there it would solve the problem. If you have one laying around id def give it a shot.

What sleeves are you running?

Golden eagle sleeves and head gasket. I thought about the factory fan but it will hit my IC piping so that is a no go. Im goin to do the temp sensor in the morning and go from there I think.

which temp sensor are you changing? the 1-wire sensor under the dizzy? it may help to ensure accurate dash gauge readings but logging off s300 is your best bet to get accurate ECT

Yeah, Doesnt the hondata get its readings from that sensor though?

no, the ecu gets its reading from the one in the thermostat housing i believe.

no the ecu gets its readings from the 2-wire sensor under the dizzy

1-wire under dizzy = dash gauge
2-wire under dizzy = ecu reading (hondata reading)
2-wire sensor in t-stat housing = fan switch

Sounds like an airflow issue since its fine a higher speeds.
