coolant problem (i hope its not the hg)
well after beating on my car some times, it over heats. I pull over and hit the rad cap pressure release (running a 79 civic rad) and the coolant bubbles out. after a week or so the coolant level drops in the radator like 2 inches. Am i boiling out coolant because my radiator is too small or its the hg? I got a cometic .046 and arps torqued to 75ft/lbs that only has 2k miles on it, so i find it hard to believe its shot already
what do you guys think, is it possible to boil out coolant due to a too small radator?

Re: coolant problem (Mad Chemist)
i doubt its your headgasket. you said your running a 79 civic radiator. do u mean 97? and also whats your setup. if ur using a stock radiator it is possible that your motoro would over heat with boostand cause it to boil. i have no definet answer sorry. bump

it fills sometimes but goes down (maybe a small leak?)

Re: coolant problem (Mad Chemist)
See if you have ANY traces of oil in your coolant. If so then its your HG. If there's no oil then you might have a very small leak somewhere

i dont see any oil in the water or water in the oil, both check out, so hte only place would be burning it, it has to be a small leak in the overfill, anyone knows where to get a generic polished looking overflow, small in diamter like the catch cans.
Maybe relplacing 17 year old honda plastic will solve my problem
