Coolan Overflow issue

Default Coolan Overflow issue

Ok. I have a 1993 honda civic. d16z6 fully built...
1mm over valves
full port and polish head
wiseco pistons
eagle rods
block gaurd
Gt35r 8-10psi

Coolant overflow filling but not returning into radiator causing air pocket...
im only running 8-10 psi....

compression test, coolant pressure test (for 1hr at 20 psi) no leak, cylinder leakdown test.... everything passes..

Replaced head gasket, gutted the center of thermostat, changed all my coolant lines, new radiator, new radiator fan, Alllmmoossttt everything has been replaced.. I cant figure out the issue .. alllso the head studs were replaced and retorqued after 5 full cycles heating up cooling completly off...

Any input would be greatly appriciated...

radiator cap? Have you been bleeding the system every time you flush it? is the coolant resirvore in the stock location? Is it over heating?

Temp fluctuates while driving..

Yes i have burped the coolant..

If i pore the overflow back in its fine.. Fills back up... pore it back in and its fine again... idk.. No loss power or anything... idk what it could be... Resivoir in stock location YES.

It gets air in the system because coolant goes into the overflow resivoir!.. but will not circualte back into the radiator CAUSING AIR POCKET!

why is it filling up is #1

im guessing head lift issues

sounds like you are using chinese head gaskets or your head/deck is not flush

idk on only 9psi how is head lifting on brand new studs anddd cylinder leaakk down test passed also compression test 200 on 1 2 3 4 im kinda stumped

head is off to the head shop.. tired of guessinggg... idk why but i guess sohc are head lift prone... im getttinngg the head checked for true, and cleaned and also haveing it resurfaced... head gasket is ordered and it should be back together over the weekend.. ugggg stressfulllll

not at all.


what brand head gaskets are you using?

i would only use a gasket that is made in japan. just my personal preference from trial and error.


also what are you doing when you are installing them? any sprays, etc? proper tq sequence? dowels are in there? what torque and steps are you going by?

was the block decked?

was the head decked?

detonation?!?!?

Fixed!!!

Head was .006 warped...

It was missing the 2 dowels.

Cometic headgaskets wouldnt allow for the dowels but now i have a factory head gasket..
