Default controlling an internal wastegate....

i dont know to much about this, and was wondering if there is a defference in how you control an internal wastegate and an external. I know how you controll the external, so is the internal the same? just hook up your vacum signal from your boost controller? a search didnt help me much...
thanks for your time guys

usually internal wastegates have a vacuum/boost line tapped in real close on the charge pipe - if not on the compressor housing itself - they are usually adjusted with a little screw and nut it has to go between like 5-7psi.... ive seen some little boost controllers that sit on the vacuum line between the wastegate acutator and the chargepipe that allow certain amounts of airflow through - allowing u to run more boost out of a less capable wastegate.

theory is the same between internal and external - they are just in different places.

external you have the option to run it open and you can make more hp that way. you can also have it closed looped and make the same if not close to the hp open if your run your pipes right. also external wg have a second hole on the top of the wg for a boost controler i THINK it is when you run a 2 silinoid boost controler (spelling). the last thing i can think of is you are able to produce more hp with an external because they are naturally bigger than an internal

forgive me if im just being ignorant but from my understand YOU CANT DO THAT. An internal wastegate (like the name stated) is internal and all the boost that is bleed off goes down the down pipe. Someone corect me if im wrong. or maybe this guy is just being a smart @ss..

thanks for the INFORMATIVE words guys..

Slater's referring to the DSM turbos where the internal w/g port and the exhaust port of the turbine are divided. They modify the O2 housings so the w/g port vents to the atmosphere and the exhaust port is still sealed off.
