Connecting Rod Bolt Upgrade. Nessecary? Facts/Opinions
Just wonderring if its a nesseccity that I buy ARP's upgrades rod bolts. Sure its only 40 bucks but it is it 40 bucks I need to spend?
Would be going in a SOHC, forged internals, high revving, 16+psi D16a6
Ive never heard of the bolts failing or anything, just wanna know the theory behind this upgrade.
Thanks

I haven't had any problems with my standard 5/16" ARP rod bolts.
How much horsepower do you plan on making? Anything over 400whp and I would consider upgrading to the 3/8" bolt.

I was under the impression you were using ARP bolts either way. I wouldn't use the stock bolts with those rods.

FREEBIE! FREEBIE! FREEBIE!
When my Eagle rods came yesterday I bought off of here they came with the Eagle/ARP 2000 bolts already on them, ******* sweet, solved that dilemna and I guess the work thats needed for them is already done before they screw right in like butter
And the mustang never showed up, I ended up taking $250 from his old school camaro buddy with a 350 chevy engine with some exhaust stuff and an aluminum worked head, he spun pretty much the whole race

Re: Connecting Rod Bolt Upgrade. Nessecary? Facts/Opinions (W O T)
are they the 3/8" bolt or the 5/16" bolt?
the 5/16" bolt uses a 3/8" wrench while the 3/8" bolt uses a 7/16" wrench.
the 5/16" arp 2000 bolt is supposedly pretty inferior to the 3/8" but many have had no problems with the 5/16"
