Default Confused about static timing

OK, so I know I am supposed to set my base timing at 14-16 degrees advance.
I am runnign turboedit and on the ignition map at 10 psi at 4000+rpms its at about 22 degrees advanced. Does this mean I have a total of 14+22=36 degrees?
Or is the value on the ignition map the actual timing advance value?
Is 22 degrees too much?
91-94 octane IHI RHB5 9.5:1 compression ratio.

22 degrees at 4000 rpms sounds like a lot to me.

i thought that close to redline under 10psi you should be around 19-21 degrees and the timing increases as rpms increase. What is your timing at say 7000 rpms?

I have about 20 degrees of advance at redline.
I think this map im using sucks, im goign to switch back to my old one or modify this one.
at 5000 about 23 advance.
So my max advance (@10psi redline) shoudlnt be more than 20 degrees?

hmmm...how much are you retarding per/psi? You don't need to retard much at all from 0-5psi and then maybe for the next couple do .5 per psi and then maybe .75 for then next couple.
