Default Compressor Wheel Cleaning

i have a turbo with a lot of buildup on the compressor wheel from running a screen because of space availability. how can i get that stuff off...the turbo is off the car right now. can i spray carb cleaner in there until it starts to come off easier...and keep on doing that...and then blow it out dry. and then maybe wipe the blades a a little easier too. I dont wana take it apart, the turbo works fine, just wana clean it up before i sell it

take the turbo off the car; remove the compressor housing and have at it with a multitude of cleaners there.

i wouldnt try to clean anything with it on the car and the plumbing attatched because you'll knock all that crust off into your charge pipes. Then it will get into your motor and they really dont like magic fairy dust.

i have a garret t3/to4e, how hard is it to take the housing off, does it come off easily without having to take the blade off? I already hve the turbo out of the car...and im driving around. i cant spray strait in there with it off the car? and then blow it out? Just dont wanna mess anything up taking the housing off.

Carb cleaner should be fine.

its not hard; there are like 6 bolts; probably 1/2" or 13mm
they may be kinda snug

take them off; lift the housing off and there you have the compressor wheel

how does it seal behind there if it is that easy...between the housing and the back wall the wheel is against.

There is a tiny gasket where the compressor housing meets the center section. Mine didnt just slide off (compresor housing)...I had to tap it a little.
