aem ems problem
ok I have a 00 prelude with a 30-1020 ems. I tried the turbo 440 basemap and the base prelude map. Because I have rc 750cc saturated injectors I then followed these instructions
"
2. If you have aftermarket injectors, perform the following changes to the calibration
a. Select the injectors from the Injectors wizard under Setup/Injectors from the main menu (See figure A). This will set the proper battery offset for the chosen injectors, but will NOT change the fuel calculations.
b. Open the Fuel map, this can be accomplished by clicking on the Injector button, the Home button, or by pressing ‘ctrl+f’. Once the fuel map is open, press ‘m’ for modify, then select “change injectors/pressure at the bottom of the pop up list. A new window will open asking you to enter the old injector size, and old pressure. Enter the old injector size, and if you are unsure of the pressure, enter 43psi. Then proceed to enter the new injector size, and the new pressure. If the pressure is unchanged, enter 43psi again. This will perform all the fuel changes to accommodate the new injectors. Note: some adjustments will still need to be made. "
after that I try to start the car and no start so I check for spark and there is no spark. So I'm like wtf, so I plug the stock ecu back in and pull the fuel injector wires because I don't want to damage them and I know the stock ecu won't handle 750cc's.... and the car not only fired spark but it started up. (probably due to the fact that the combustion chamber was so richly soaked in fuel). I quickly shut it down. But I don't know what the problem is, I'm getting a "stat sync" on light when I try to start it. it's just not right. any help is appreciated
p.s. I posted this issue on aem's forums to but they have much lower post count
summary:
no spark with aem ems 30-1020

Re: aem ems problem (c61lude)
Go to the AEM website the is a "NEW" wizard file that has updated injector listing and I know for a fact they have RC 750cc injectors in the in this that should do the trick once you download it! Cuz maybe you do have spark, but your flooding your motor out
EDIT: Here's the site:: http://forum.aempower.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=9156
To use the latest Wizard, you must have V1.11 and newer software.
Save the attached file to the directory listed below.
C:\Program Files\AEM\AEMPro

I don't have spark dude, I pulled the #1 spark plug wire and plugged it into a brand new spark plug and it's not firing. But thanks I will try this out
EDIT:

Re: (c61lude)
did the aem system ever work? It sounds like you blew a coil driver try repining the wire for the coil driver and changing it in the aem system. What version are you running?

Re: (underpressure02)
It does sound like you blew a coil driver or maybe the coil output isnt turned on or something.. Check the paper that came with your ems and see what your primary coil output is, then bring that up in the list for the ems and see if that coil is turned on..
Also try this, load on the unmodified basemap and try to start it that way without changing the injectors or anything..

good deal I'll try that. I don't really know much about coil drivers. Actualy I don't have any clue what they are how they work or anything . Can you baby through this?

Re: (c61lude)
A coil driver is just a switch to ground output.. When the ecu wants the coil to fire it sends ground to the coil output which fires the coil.. If the output isnt turned on or is blown then its not going to fire the coil..
Reload the basemap and try to start it..

Re: aem ems problem (c61lude)
you need to read up the tunning thread and the honda thread on aem.there is a post that is stickied, the post says "if you have no spark read here"and are you sure you calibrated the map properly for your injectors.post your setup it might be pretty close to mine.

Thats for the 1010 model dude, not the 1020. Also calibrating the fuel map doesnt affect spark/ignition .....
