Default Which compression would choose?

Was wondering what compression to choose, 8.5:1, 9.0:1, or 9.5:1? Is there one better then the other? I want to run between 15-20 psi. How big of a difference are the crower rods versus the eagle rods? I'm looking for some input, suggestions, etc. I don't really plan on drag racing. Just don't want to worry anymore with the 10.6:1. It's a headache.

In my opinion.....

I would get the inline pro head gasket and run about 10 psi on street gas (theres more to that, e.g: fuel setup, type of turbo, etc....). That should run strong. I believe someone on this board got that setup, Ive always wanted to find out how his/her car is doing or running.
Also, why would you want to tear up an itr block. I would get a gsr block and build it. I think it would be a wast to build the itr block. Thats a great motor from Honda, and would be a shame to tear it up. Put it up for sale, hey for a good price, I will buy it.

For turbo around 9:1 compression would be good. Don't get any lower than that or you will sacrifice perfomance and will have to run more boost. The b16 and up engines do not really like compression ratios below 9:1 especially if you are just boosting around 15lbs of boost. Both the Eagle rods and Crower rods are very well made. I really like the Eagles because of the price, but I am going to go with crower because of their reputation and quality of there products. I don't mind payin the extra money. They are both excellent quality.

I am not too sure whether this is a street car, drag car or combination of both, so choosing the right compression ratio can be difficult. PERSONALLY, I would go 8.5:1 CR if it were going to be a DRAG ONLY car! If it were going to be a daily driven street car or a street/strip car, I would go with a 9.0:1 - 9.5:1 CR just so the car will be more responsive on the street. 9.5:1 will be a lot more responsive than 8.5:1 CR.

As for the rods, I have seen Crowers hold 500-600+ whp without any problems whatsoever. I have no experience with Pauter nor Carillo. I haev used Eagle rods, but I don't know what their limits are , if any! My experience with Eagle is too new for me to comment on durability & power output issues.

9.0:1 would be perfect. Lower than that you sacrifice off boost response and low end power. Higher and you will be dealing with detonation more frequently. Crowers are great but pricey, Eagle will hold that boost level fine though for less money.
