compression test results and questions
on a gsr (stroke and length are the same as stock), if je pistons are 9:1 ratio and the bore is 81.5mm with a stock chamber on the gsr head, does 150psi all across sound right to you?
I did some searches on google too but didn't really find anything. thanks.

Re: compression test results and questions (redlinetuning)
I think 180 would sound better, but in general if all your cylinders are within 5% of each other or so then it's safe to say your good.
How many miles are on the motor? You can also do a leakdown if you want another perspective on cylinder seal.
Also, since your compression testing, is there a problem that is leading you to want to do this, or are you just compression testing out of curiosity?

Are you doing the compression test after the motor is up to operating temp? Also while cranking have accelerator to the floor as well?
#s seem low BUT the important part is it is consistent across the board.

Re: compression test results and questions (Boostfed.com)
actually a buddy of mine did the compression test. it's a turbocharged car he's interested in getting. he asked me and i wasn't sure why it was a bit low.
thanks for the answers. he did say he did the test before the engine was at operating temp ..

Re: (turb20_vtec)
throttle open, 4-5 blips on the gauge.
if you are scared, put a drop of oil in the cylinder before and see if and how much it goes up. if it is significant, then the rings are done.
