compression test
whats up...i just did a compression test on my engine ...im using a 95 gsr motor with a drag 3 kit in a 95 hatch the motor has about 70k on it ..i also forgot to pump the gas while i was doing it. anyway the numbers where
cylinder#1...200
cylinder#2...180
cylinder#3...190
cylinder#4...195
anyway are these numbers fine or are they bad...the engine was at normal operating temp... i pulled the ecu plug but i FORGOT to push the gas pedal to full throttle would that effect the numbers...thanks alot let me know

Re: compression test (intekragsr)
Holding the throttle wide open will change your numbers slightly but with what you got Id say your good to go.....also with doing the test at WOT it tell the ECU its in clear flood mode where the injectors dont spray...at least Im pretty sure

Re: compression test (REVTurbo)
I'd like to know what difference it makes when you hold the throttle open while doing a compression test. People say this is the way it should be done, but I've never heard an explantion. Does anyone know?

who told you that??
who told you that??
Holding the throttle open on a compression test just makes sure that the cylinder pulls in a full charge of air on an intake stroke. If you think about it, IF no air could enter the intake mainfold there wouldnt be any air to compress which means no compression..but we all know that air can always get into the intake manifold through many ways which is why you get compression with the throttle closed....hope that cleared quesitons up

On MOST cars when the computer sees a WOT condition on start up it wont send signals to the injectors. you also want to disconnect the coil also.

Re: compression test (machaf)
Umm thats why you take out the fuel pump fuse. So you don't get fuel why cranking.
