well i have a competition clutch stage 5 and i keep having problems with it
i had a stage 4 in my previous car and i never had any problems it was great and fairly easy to drive
well my new car seems to be the worst ever, if i have it in first gear and come to a stop it will stay in first gear and i feel like i literally have to rip it out
its very harsh and the engagement isnt very predictable, also the more i drive it the harder it gets to drive and becomes very particular
i installed a new clutch master and slave cylinder, adjusted them properly and i still have this same problem
any help is appreciated

is the clutch facing the right direction? If its not it will constantly have contact and cause the symptoms you described. Bent shift arm? All the air out of the hydros? bent shift pedal/arm? thats all I can think of right now

if the clutch wasnt facing the right direction it wouldnt be able to be installed
everything is bled properly, nothing seems bent

Im running the same clutch and mines nothing like you stated. On break in it was wanting to grab a little hard but after that its smoothed out nicely.
Pull the trans back off and check everything, something isnt right.

**** competition clutch i will say it everytime i see a thread about them, YEAH alot of people have good success with them, as i have had many friends who have, BUT mine went out within 2 months and they didnt do **** about it and i wasted $500 !! go act, love it so much more and GREAT customer service
kinda quick to jump the gun and blame it on the company eh?
Wont know wats wrong until the tranny is pulled and found wats causing the problem. Just because you had a bad experience doesnt make them a bad company. Im sure theres ppl out there that didnt get their issues resolved with ACT just like every other company in the world.

no more highjacking- sounds like you are gonna have to pull the trans back out and finger her out

I have a CC stage also and I had problems with mine too. It would not disengage all the way. Have difficulty stagin the car at the track and shifting gears at high RPMs. Never had a problem with the other clutches I had.
People that are complaining about disengagement issues, have you tried adjusting the throw on the clutch pedal? It something so basic, yet no one every seems to do it. I have sold tons and tons of competition clutch and never have issues with them. Each car varies in the amount that the slave cylinder will travel, some have no issues and some do. Adjusting the clutch pedal throw will cure this issue most of the times.
Just a heads up for anyone running the stage 4 and stage 5 clutches from comp, they recommend running their flywheel in conjunction with the clutch. I have not measured the flywheel, but i suspect that they space out the clutch/pressure plate a bit from the crankshaft compared to the stock flywheel. This would give the clutch fork/throw out bearing a bit better mechanical advantage at the pressure plate and allow for full disengagement for the same given clutch pedal/slave cylinder travel.

ya i have the flywheel, and i adjusted the throw on the clutch pedal, maybe i will try it again though, thanks for the advice jeff
Make sure to check the input shaft splines. If there are burrs on the splines, the clutch will not disengage properly. Its not common, but i have seen it before. Also make sure you apply a very thin coat of grease to the input shaft.
