Some of the AEM cold start corrections take some effort to get correct in ALL temp circumstances. I would ask your tuner to maybe glance at your cold start tables and make sure every thing is cool.

hahahah, i feel your pain. i went through last winter with my aem. adjust your iat table and your coolant temp table's. my car would start only sometimes it was way to rich when very cold.

In these cold weather conditions it takes much more fuel to be injected because the fuel cannot atomize as easily. This is why the car will hicup usually if you try and take it leaner then 13.0-13.5 , but other cars it may vary slighty based on the characteristics. However Long cranks would indicate that your cranking fuel is not rich enough. I am sure you might be experiencing maybe a little bit of both. You can't blame the tuner as he cannot tune for these conditions perfectly unless he sees your car in these temps and cold start situations. Sometimes its adjusted blind eye and you can get it fairly well but other times it takes some touch up.

mine was fuel because i didn't calculate my percentage change on the temp tables so when i turned the key on and the temp was reading 20 f outside it was dumping fuel causing fuel flooding, causing a no start. it helped when i gave it a little throttle because your allowing more air in to lean out the mixture slightly, but i think rule of thumb is for every 10 degrees cooler add 2% and subtract 2% for every 10 dgrees hotter away from base tune temp.

tell me about it. I hate it. I don't blame the tuner. It's expected on modified cars. I always have to hold the gas throttle down slightly to start the car...warm or cold conditions. My tuner put in a base map, but I have not had the chance to have him give the car a nice street tune. I think it's running rich when I crank it. No lie, once my car was running very low on gas, almost to the E mark. As I was trying to crank the car in the cold, after about 20 tries, I can see the needle move across the E mark. Needless to say, I had to go buy 2 gallons of gas to put in the car.
