Default code 14, and the worst day of my life so far

so i have girl problems, I drive back to college, on the way back i get a CEL 14. I go stop at the gas station, couldn't get the light to stay away. I also pulled the plugs, the bottom ring was black, the top part was brownish black. I had the CEL14 before and when i reset the ECU it would go away. When i try to start the car up, it just hesitate and die out. Anyone with the same problem that fixed it, CEL 14, not GF problem. Today totally sucks oh yeah, I wasn't drive my car hard either
btw
I'm using SMC+, and DSM 450s, still with stock fuel pump. 15g turbo w/ HKS b-series mani. I've tried different settings on the SMC already. it idle best at 33-34 before, so i kept it there. When i tried it at 40-40, car had trouble starting, tried it at 30-30, car has bad idle.
sorry didn't know to post this here in FI or in Integra, but i chose it here b/c I've started reading here more to turbo to cheap fuel management

code 14 is iac if im not mistaken, i had problems with my plugs so i know what that is. if your not sure this is on the back of intake manifold where coolant line goes to. 2 wire plug.

Alright, no problem. Take off the IACV and clean it. My teg used to stall all the time too. You need to spray it with brake cleaner and brush out all the **** on there.

Like u said, all u have to do is keep your foot on the gas, I've had that too. The IACV controls the idle, when mine took a **** i just blocked it off totally and unplugged it, car ran normal with out it once it got up to temp. I wouldn't consider that a big problem at all.

so are you sayin you removed the sensor basically bypassing the sensor all together?

It will throw a code but it doesn't make the car run any different. And all u have to do is cut a peace of a soda can and put that peace in between the sensor and the intake manifold(make sure its not leaking air). All that sensor does is bypass air into the intake to keep the rpms at the right point when the car is warming up, its the electric choke basically. If u have a loopy idle and its because of a bad IACV u can block it and it will fix the loopy idle, BUT when the car is cold u will have to keep your foot on the gas till it warms up. Its a pain cuz u have to have your foot on the gas before the car starts or it won't start at all, too much gas and u are reving a cold engine, too little and u have low oil pressure at start up, both are bad. There is alot to fixing a loopy idle, but there is more than enough info on H-T for anyone to fix it.

carb cleaner works really well too . . . . I had to do that a few times. The screen get carbon buildup, but just clean it with either carb cleaner or brake parts cleaner, and let it air out for a bit before you put it back on, and then you should be good to go

You can make it not stall by unplugging a vacuum line to the manifold until you get it fixed. Your idle will be all f*cked up, obviously, but there's nothing more annoying than having to keep the car from dying.

Yea, my stock intake manifold, throttle body and IACV were dirty as ****, because of the damn Honda PVC system. After 73k miles there was a substantial amount of buildup.

yeah i had to do the same thing to my iac today. i pulled what i thought would be one code for the iac valve and it ended up being 8 others that built up over the past few months. got it all fixed now. clean the iac, idle is back to stock and no more codes
