Default Code 1 O2 sensor error lights up while open loop (hondata related)

Well this has happend to me once but its happening to my friend alot.

On occasion his check engine light pops up with the CEL Code 1 Primary O2 sensor. I find this hard to believe when his car is running in open loop and therefore his O2 sensors are not functioning, or the readings are being ignored.

To humour the error we did replace the O2 sensor, but found that not to be the problem? Could this be an ECU issue? Its a p72, and my p28 also did that code once, but never came up again after I shut down and restarted the car.

We updated the rom howeverthat is not the problem, what else could it be? We just dont have a good time with HONDATA.....

Sorry bro, but code 1 is not a 02 code, code one is faulty ECM.

Are you sure the Eprom is in there tightly??

An loose connections on the interface box?

all I know on my OBD2 ECU CEL 1 means primary O2 is shot.

Make sure all the wires from the oxygen sensor, and into the harness are carrying current (except ground wire). You might have a break in the line somewhere. I had this code when one wire on the oxygen sensor came loose, I checked with my multimeter and confirmed this. Repaired the wire, code went away.
