Default coating turbo exhaust manifold

just want to know how many of you guys here are doing that. i am thinking of having it done, i would love to have that sterling silver one from jet hot but both them and HPC says that kind will just flake off after running the manifold for a lil while. but i have also seen other ppl on these forums use that same exact coating. for those of you that do use the nice silver coating, do u guys basically run that nice coating for one year at a time, n at the end of the year they send it out again to get it re-coated? or should i just go with the 2400 degree coating? i know i will definitely do the coating, simply to help spool the turbo better, but i also wanted something that will look nice. lemme know wat u guys think, thanks.

HPC is a good place to get coatings. They are local here in AZ along with Jet Hot. Jet Hot coatings aren't as reliable in my opinion. Swain Tech coatings in NY are much thicker than both Jet Hot and HPC, but depending on were you live, NY might take a couple of weeks for you to get products coated if you live on the West Coast. Personally, I have taken all of my parts to HPC and have no complaints. Talk to Matt @ HPC and tell him Louis w/ APEX Motorsports sent you!

I really like my Jet Hot for the S2000 DC Stainless header... Since the DC removes the stock heat shield, anything that would reduce the under hood temp would help.

Also, for anyone interested, I have a contact at Jet Hot, nice guy... if you want, I could contact him. my email is shingman@onebox.com.

I have talked to both Jet-hot and HPC, and they moved said that their 2000 degree coating does not include silver sterling; I know you have seen some ppl with it, and they insist that it is 2000 degree coating. Either they have some special hookup, or that they have been lied to.

anyway, I have jet hot 2000 degree coating, and they are great, even though I would prefer sterling...

if you want pix... do a search... you should see it.

I have the Swain coating on my manifold... looks nice, doesn't chip, does the job, and customer service was excellent.

How is the 1300 degree stuff holding up? Is it adequate for a turbo honda? I'm pretty sure my temps get above 1300 degrees F....

They have held up to 19+ pis on my personal car. The car has been pushing 350 hp for over a year with the 1300 degree coatings with no problems whatsoever! I am pretty sure it would hold up on a honda just as well as it has on my car!

I am sending my stuff out today to get coated by Jet Hot. I talked to a guy named Todd out at Jet Hot just to see what they were about. Two days later I had a video, and a price estimate for everything. They were over all cheaper than HPC, and better customer service. If you haven't seen this video, you have to. They do some crazy **** to the things they coat. Take hammers and everything to it, it won't chip off. Plus, race cars use the same coating, it has to be good for our cars. Just my .02 though, oh, and I have seen stuff coated from HPC and Jet hot. Jet Hot seems to be a bit more, Bling Bling, they use silver in the coating.

gsr*lude- What coating did you get?

What is the temp tolerance of Jet-hot's Sterling coat? Also, I'm going to be drilling a hole for the EGT probe in the hole on the DP where the internal wastegate would go (Drag dp), should I drill this hole before or after it is coated? Wouldn't want to crack it.

Drill before, I am getting it done tomorrow, then overnighting the parts to Jet Hot. It is the sterling coating, I think it is 1300 F. Their 2000 F stuff only comes in three colors and it looks like what is on the DC Headers when you get them.
