I've got a Clutchnet Stage II (6-puck, sprung) and the chatter is getting annoying. I get chatter out of all the gears if I shift hard, and out of 1st no matter what I do. Not to mention the pedal feel is spongy, but I digress.

Do ACT X/SS or HD/SS or clutchmasters clutches chatter badly? I'm only putting down about 220ish whp now, but I plan on having about 300 after the summer.

Does a clutch exist that can hold this power and at the same time, not chatter?

i'm not sure if the ACT street disks chatter but, the unsprung 6 puck chatters like a mug

Clutchmasters Stage 4 chatters for me. It is really annoying.

 

My Clutchnet Stage II 6-puck, sprung chattered everytime I started out. The people who I bought it from said that it was normal. Very annoying.
I got an Action 2MD 6 puck, unsprung and it does not make any noise unless I really goof up.

 

Clutch Masters Stage 3 in the lude chatters like no tommorow, with fidanza flywheel, gets really annoying . I pulled my trans last week to find that the springs got a little loose.

Yeah the ACt 6 puck chatters too but it has alot to do with the way u drive it also..The street discs are very tame compared to the 6pucks...for ur HP I would prob go with the street disk...

 

My Action 1MD unsprung 6puck only chatters if I seriously under-rev it when taking off, or when I'm late with the clutch when shifting.

Really, I have a Clutchmasters stage 4 on my car and it barely chatters, 1st obviously and 2nd a little..... are u sure its installed right

 

i run a clutchmasters stage3 and it doesnt chatter at all

 

Anyone know how much power an ACT XT/SS can hold?

Any clutch kit without a full-face clutch disc will chatter.

me to I assume its a noise comming from the clutch/flywheel area

 

Imagine the clutch disc vibrating against the flywheel or pressure plate.

 

if the flywheel isn't resurfaced it will chatter

 

thats odd..my clutchnet stge 2 only chatters in reverse when trying to slip it at idle. I think that weather it chatters oir not has to do with the break in..I went really easy on mine for bout 150 miles then ran the **** outta it. NO chaatter here. I did resurface the flywheel

 

anyone have experiences w/ an action 2md?

break in does not matter on a puck style clutch...

 

My CM Stage 3 chattered in 1st gear when taking off for about 3 months. Then one weekend after an autocross it just stopped chattering and now acts just like the stock clutch did.
