Default clutch specialties??

The guy whos putting in my block at auto wave is suggesting that I run a clutch specialties stage 2 and an aluminium fly wheel. I have ags-r block resleeved to a 2.0 with forged pistons and rods and I plan on running 300 whp when i get the turbo in a couple weeks or so then later i hope to hit around 400whp. I was originally planning on clutchmaster stage 5, but clutch specialties one is a little cheaper, and I was curious who is/has run one of these and what you reccomendations are. thanks

I run a Clutch Specialties. It's actually my third one since i've owned the car! I think there great clutches and for the price you can't beat it. I started with a 6 puck solid hub, then went to a full face spring disc, and back to the 6 puck, this time spring disc. Call them and talk to Bryan, he's very helpful. When I first shopped around for a clutch years back, I didn't know what to look for. I would go to a shop in town and they would give me 2 options, Clutch Masters or ACT. I asked "what's the difference?". They would say " Clutch Masters is a little more expensive, go with the ACT", seriously that's what I was told. Then I found Clutch Specialties by doing a search and talked to Bryan and he explained to me exactly what I would get and how it would be. Call them for yourself, 714-525-4272. I haven't spoken to him in years but tell him David from Houston sent ya. Also by going direct it should be cheaper for you. I always paid $250.00 for disc, pressure plate, both bearings and alighnment tool.
Good luck!

bryan, who is the man at clutch specialties is great. he will tech you as much as you want and seems to take a real interest in making the correct clutch for you. he even put together a VERY nice impromptu group buy for me when i and 3 friends ordered 4 clutches from him. no problems with any of them, and i and my friends ae all VERY happy with the CS clutches.

I love mine! Six puck sprung hub, not too much chatter, Dual Diaphragm very stiff but holds the power. Non dual diaphragm are like stock pressure feel, the dual is like any other manufacturers regualr performance clutch in pedal feel. If you plan over 400whp I would go with the dual diaphragm Most of us local in my area run the Clutch Specialties with great success.

thanks... I called and he reccomended a 2500 lb pressure plate with a rigid stage 2 street disc... what ever that means. I told him my plans and he says thats my best option, and i will still have room to boost more if i feel the need a little later

Yes unfortunatly politics and $$$ talk. he is just doing all of H-T a favor by trying to keep the cost down on a very expensive hobby. You can email him or call him at 818-335-5316 ask for TOM or visit his website at http://www.camp1320.com : thumbup:
