Default cluster questions

when I start the car no needles move in the cluster the rpm, the fuel, and the temp dont move at all. Where does the cluster take his rpm signal from? the ecu directly? the only things working on the cluster looks like to be the batterie light and the srs light. I think the engine lihgt doesnt work either cause the wire of the map signal was cut on the ecu (pin D17) and it didn't even throw a cel. what could be the causes? where can I find wiring diagram for the cluster? btw its an EG with a b18b

That is going to be hard to diagnose, especially since it seems that you have modified the existing wiring.

I would check all the fuses. After that, well, my first guess would be the gauge power wire is damaged. All the gauges (and the CEL) are supplied switched power from a single short connector. The battery and SRS and supplied with seperate power.
