Default closed loop bov (searched)

in a closed loop bov setup, where does all the extra air go? also would you hear any pssshhhh sound? or would it just be muffled. also is there any benefits to having a closed loop setup? thanks

in a closed loop setup the released air from the BOV is recirculated into the compressor intake tract

The sound is muffled alot, but still audible. If it is closed loop it won't screw with the MAF sensor (if it is mounted before the turbo). I don't know if there is any other real benifits. maybe little things like reducing the drag on the compressor w/ BOV open since it won't have to suck air through the filter, and if the BOV is open at idle it will gget filtered air, but those two are not worth the reduction in sound IMO.

also, with the pressurized air being released through the bov into the inlet of the turbine wheel it helps to keep the turbo spooled between shifts instead of slowing down...the released intake air acts as "supplimental exhaust gas"...just on the other wheel of the two

theres no real reason to run close loop on a honda since they are map...the whole reason some cars run closed loop is so it doesnt mess with the amount of air metered by the maf and how much is actually in the system..when you vent a maf car bov it will cause it to run rich when the bov opens...but on a map car it doesnt make a difference

the only other benifit would be it doesnt blow an dirty air around the engine bay but just put a mini filter on the end of the bov and that fixes that

What about a muffler off of a lawnmower or having it dump into a can of wool or something with baffles? As long as it didn't suck in anything at idle. i just gave up cuse i want as little extra stuff on my motor.
