Closed Deck or Open Deck?

1. Someone in that thread said that GE is the best of both worlds, what are they refering to?
2. At what point should you go from open deck to closed deck on a b18c1 (amount of boost/power)?
closed deck allows for more internal pressure (ie boost)... but has decreased cooling efficiency

1) GE = Golden Eagle
2) I've seen no solid evidence that going to a solid deck is ever absolutely necessary, but anyone will agree it's at a point well above the kind of power you'd make in a street car. Good sleeves will get you to 500hp with an open deck.

look at the picture in the link. THe sleeves have flared supports for stability, but the deck is still open.

ohh, ok...now i know what a deck is
so the GE sleeves look somewhat like the side view of a gear with little sanded teeth with gaps between them....right?
