Default ... closed deck vs open deck

(did a search)

... from my search, closed deck allows for more internal pressure (ie boost)... but has decreased cooling efficiency... right?... and open deck is just the opposite... so there are trade-offs between the two... (and this also goes back to the golden eagle vs darton discussion)

... so what does everyone recommend for a "V8 killa" street machine?

But it also depends on how much power he plans on having. If you want to beat stock V8's out there, I believe you can stick with stock internals and gow with a low boost application (~9psi). But if you want to go any higher than that, you want to build the engine at which point, with an open deck, you gotta change the sleeves...
