Default Cleaning intercooler tips?

Well ive read some old posts about cleaning intercoolers, but i cant get mine clean , i repolished the end tanks, and fixed some of the fins and got bugs and rocks out for the most part, but the thing is it almost looks like the intercooler core itself is like stained and like a darker color, driving me nuts.
an further cleaning tips and how does everyone keep theres clean ?
maybe ill post pics of mine later so you can see

If you're trying to remove grease and dirt, Castrol Super Clean (get it in a big jug at Walmart for 6 bucks) is amazing stuff. I cleaned all of the grease and grime off of my block with it. You'd swear it had been hot-tanked!

hrm. While you're at wallmart, maybe pick up a decent size flat tupperware container, one that will let you fully immerse the intercooler, and then have at it with whatever mixutre of chemical and water, maybe metal poish? This will let you soak the intercooler, and if you could find some way to agitate the whole contraption, making it vibrate.... Or maybe some aquarium pumps agitating just the water...

Or waybe someplace could have it hot-tanked? I dunno about that.

Or you could just stop being such a ricer, hehehe

I use a bent paper clip to reach in behind the little rocks and bugs to hook them and pull them out. I then take a toothbrush and scrub my I/C free of bugs and stuff. After that, I take a knife to straighten out the fins. As for taking it off the car for cleaning and/or polishing, I have no idea, but what these guys have said they use sounds good to me.

Any hardcore degreaser will work (commercial grades work best)....Just spray, delay and walk away....wait a while and rinse, repeat if needed......
