Check Engine Light Problem
** sorry for the double post, but i need the car runnig since its finals week
My check engine light came on today, and the car i runs like crap. The weird thing is that afterjumping the harness, the light doesn't blink at all
. The car was running perfectly fine yesterday with no problems or check engine light....... has this ever happend to anyone? I always thought jumping the harness would give you the problem code.
Setup: 01 GSR, basic turbo kit, hondata s200b, p72 ecu, blown90hatch harness, 580cc injectors, stock map, oem honda resistorbox
(ran fine since it was boosted and tuned a month or so)
could it be a bad harness or ecu?? I've checked over the engine and everything seems to be fine
UPDATE: i think i found the problem...loose connection LOL

aw man i hope not, its an obd1 p72, so its a bit more expensive than the p28
.
The idle fluctuates and bounces from 1.5k to 750....when i tried to drive it to my mechanics place up the street I couldnt even get passed my house w/o feeling i was gonna break something...kind alike having the injector wires in the wrong order

a friend of mine had this problem and it ended up being the hondata. check and see if the light on the blue box is blinking. if not then it could also be the idle sensor/throttle body. just a couple more places for you to look. good luck
yeah with the idle jumping all around it sounds like your IACV which is located on the back of your intake manifold . . . . ahh wait. You got a GSR . . . not sure where it is on that motor, but search for IACV and chedk the screen on it to see if it is black, and if it is hit it with some carb cleaner
thanks for the help guys
.....This is really weird because i came back from school a few mins ago, took out the ecu/hondata box to make sure everything was ok. Which it was, since the light in the blue box was steady. Tried to start it up and it ran fine, no code or anything. The only thing i can think of being different in the two times i tried to start it is that the car was in direct sunlight in the morning and the cabin was really hot, and now it was relatively cool. not sure if that's the cause or what it would even do though, any thoughts?

probably, i had unbolted the ecu and had it laying on the floor

Ok the car is doing it again!
I'm pretty sure it's the temperature issue, because it was sitting in the sun again. I tried moving the harness, hondata ribbon cable etc and making sure they were all secure....still acting up. I was able to move it under some shade, hopefully it'll start after cooling down.
