With a turbo, none. Research is the best thing you could do.

I agree with luserkid, until you understand how a turbo setup works. You shouldn't have one.

There are thousands of threads and a whole forum dedicated for turbo info.

well just with the i/h/e you can easily run an extra 23 lbs of boost. its proven.

but seriously check the forced induction section. there is alot more to it than just buying a turbo

On a turbo setup you only will use the exhaust, intake and headers will be replaced by the turbo system.

The Z6 can handle 10-11psi of boost before you need to build the motor.

howstuffworks.com will benefit you. BTW you won't be using your header with a turbo.

i say it's up to the kid if he wants to blow it or not. and if I do belive that no matter how much he researches, theres nothin like hands on trial and error and it's not the hardest thing in the world, people do it on a day to day basis (*cough* HT *cough*) it's a thread treat it like one! > man i hate it when people d1ck around with answering the question and just moving on and he gets to go play with the information he obtained by HT.

To put a turbo on your car you'll need the following:

A turbo
an exhaust mani for the turbo
wastegate
IC
IC piping
BOV
bigger injectors
differant fuel management system to run injectors (safc, e manage, etc..)
higher volume fuel pump
FPR
Down pipe
bigger exhaust
lobier cam or cams
better clutch
boost gauge
EGT gauge
oil pressure gauge
Boost controller
Oil lines to turbo

That should be all, unless I forgot some. You dont have to have all these things but for it to run properly these things should be a necessity. Theres so much more to boosting a car than slapping a T3 on it and chirping the tires. Like these guys said - saerch search search! Learn about them, learn how they work and what runs them or you'll F up your motor for sure.

To make it run efficiently and safely you do need all those things, believe me. Sure to make it work you only need 5 or 6, but this is your car for christ sakes - why take the cheap route. For about $1500 in used parts and good deals you can make your turbo set-up run PERFECT.

Why wouldnt you put gauges up? I wouldnt run a turbo set-up without knowing what my turbos boosting, or the psi in my oil system, or my exhaust temp (that'll tell you if your running lean or rich)

depends on the turbo.....

the correct statement should be: the z6 can handle about 200-220whp depending on tune, before you need to build the motor.

Something tells me the person who asked really doesn't care anyways, since they haven't been back on this thread!

^^^Good point - probably saw how much time and effort it took to search and learn, then saw how much money and time it'll take to boost and said screw it.
