Charateristics of t3 on d16a6
I've found a t3 labled -- Used Garrett/Airesearch TBO335-- with these specs---
Garrett model number: TB0335 (T3 series turbo)
Compressor Trim: 50
Compressor housing A/R: .42
Turbine Trim: 69
Turbine housing A/R: .48
Horsepower Capabilities: ~300hp
Internal Wastegate: Yes
Water cooled: Yes
Wastegate setting: 7 psi
When will I see boost??? aT what rpm?

Same turbo made 8 psi by 3k on my ls so it should make full boost little bit later on your d16.

IMO the T3 50 trim .48 is the best T3 turbo for the SOHC esp. the d16a6 and d16y7, perfect for the rpm range and spool time

yes, that is an excellent turbo for under 250whp on a D16. A .63 a/r turbine housing would help keep the top end from flattening out and not affect the boost threshold more than 1 or 200 rpm

Tons of people run that turbo on d-series engines. It's a good fit, for a stock engine at least. If your goals are 180-200 or so on a stock engine than it's a perfect turbo for you.
If you are planning a build and 250-300hp in the future than I would start out with a little bigger turbo, that way you won't have to buy another one when you build the engine.
It really depends on your goals though.
I started out just wanting to run 7psi on my stock d16 and within 6 months I got bored and am starting a new project, built and 1bar daily.
Boost is so damn addictive
