oh...i just wanna know if i can still replace it with a smaller compressor housing...right now the housing is 57 trim on the cold and .63 a/r on the hot side. i wanna replace the 57 trim for maybe something smaller. its a t3/t4 master power turbo.

i dont think it's that easy......the housings are machined to fit that turbo/compressor wheel.

you should contact master power and see if they have a smaller housing avalible....

57 trim is the wheel, not the ar of the housing.

youd need to find a housing that is machined for your wheel
and removing it isnt hard, just take the bolts off of the backplate and it should just come right off

No, it should'nt be hard at all to remove the housing. You are mixed up. You have a 57trim wheel, not a housing. I'm quite sure that you can only switch to a different a/r housing if it is machined for your specific wheel. For example, I have a 40 trim t04e wheel in a .50 housing. I could switch up to a .60 housing only if it is machined for the 40 trim E.
You probably have the .60 a/r housing(though i'm not familiar with m/p). I know they make the .50 for the smaller wheels, but i'm not sure if they have one for the 57 trim. Also, a smaller a/r housing might come with a smaller inlet. Mine is 2.75", but some(if not all) of the .60 housings come with a 3" inlet.
Why are you set on a smaller comp housing anyway? If you're looking for a quicker spool, you will be disappointed. What changing the comp housing does is alter where the efficiency range is located. If you have a certain wheel, and you think that at your boost level and peak hp rpm's you are slightly out of the turbo's optimal efficiency range, switching to a smaller comp housing will move the efficiency island slightly to the left on a compressor map and vice-versa. You may experience quicker spool, but I doubt it would be significant enough to warrant the trouble. If spool is your goal, then concentrate on the turbine side.
