car will not start. 3bar map problem maybe??
I was driving my car on the freeway and the check engine light came on. The car slowly bogs itself to a stop and will not want to start. Every time I try cranking the car it will not want to start and the check engine light will come on. Check code and have a solid code. Could my ecu or chip be bad? Try replacing chip with a backup and still nothing. The other problem I found was when I check the voltage for the map sensor (3bar). Voltage check for + and - was about 4.9v. And signal and ground came up to be 4.7v. Which it suppose to be around 1.? V. right?? I replace with 3 different maps (3 bar) and still the same problem. I test an OEM map sensor and voltage came up to be normal. 4.9v (+/-) and 2.8v (signal/-). When switching signal and ground with the 3bar map sensor the car will idle fine but will not rev past 2k rpm. That was weird. Anyone have this kind of problem before and knows what can be wrong.

Re: (eg:R)
When you put in your backup chip, was it set for a 3 bar map sensor?
If it is, or rather was, try reburning the chip again, and if that doesn't work, check your soildering and wiring at the ecu. Usually a solid ecu light is that, but i can be a bad chip burn too. I had some issues with that when first chipping my car.
