Car is at the shop HELP
The question is about IC piping. The installer told me it would be a bitch to do the IC piping. All I have is some SS ubends for the piping so he would have to cutomize it for my car. Anyway, he said it would take him two days and that would add $600 to my installation cost. Can I just run some dryer ducts for now for the IC to the compressor? I will get a more permanent solution later, but I don't want to pay the extra $600 if I can help it. The kit is Maxrev and it's going on a 5th gen Prelude. Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

rubber hose and **** but not some dryer duck. that will blow to pieces. can you just pipe it to your tb till you get the money. 600 is an *** raping. you can just buy some hose clamps and ic hose and make everthing your self. dont forget a hack saw.
if you dont want to go the hose route, do all of the cutting your self and then bring it to some one to weld. may take time but it will only cost you about 50 bucks at the most.

What shop is it at? Try giving RPM NYC 718-740-3277 a call and see how much they charge. I was really impressed at the quality of they're custom piping.

I would try getting pipes from Drag or Fmax, but it's still going to need modifications as the IC may be different. A thick rubber hose. Hmm that may hold. The price is due to making the custom pipes and not the cost of the pipes themselves. My kit came with piping, just more $$ to cut, route, weld..etc. I'll try the hose thing if the guys is going to charge me too much. He seems nice though and may lower the price.
The only reason I didn't go with some other shop was due to AEM EMS. No one else in the area can tune it. I had a friend's shop that could've installed it cheap, but they don't do AEM EMS. DRT has done a lot of AEM tuning.

Thats a hell of a large pricetag especially since I'm, assuming you supplied some mandrel bends etc. already! I did full custom front mount intercooler piping for a customer on an Eagle Talon w/ alluminized mandrel bends, and the good silicone couplers for $325.

since you got the piping already, do it yourself, it's not that hard. Just use silcon couplings or a length of silicon hose (cut it to be your couplings with some hose clamps). Go get a pipe cutter from an automotive store or hardware store (hacksaws take 100 times longer to cut, pipe cutter=10 sec or less cut) and use that to cut the lengths on pipe to fit. YOU CAN DO IT
