Default Car running awful after OBD conversion/ Turbo install

The car is a 96 civic CX and I converted my car over to OBD1 and have a P06 chipped ecu from phearable.net, its a T25 turbo with just the O2 housing that basically has the exhaust exiting 4" after the turbo (downpipe being welded monday).

The car idles @ 1500 RPM and sounds like its cammed out. Its on a basemap so I think its idling like this because its running rich with the RC 440's. Has anybody had an experience like this with a basemap?

The car is throwing a code which I'm about to go pull but I assume that its for the O2 sensor(s) because of no Catalytic (obviously).

The car is being tuned on Tuesday but I have to drive an hour and a half, and the car is drivable, but I'm kinda scared to take it on the highway with it running like this and being as unpredictable as it is.

Thanks for any help, I appreciate it.

**Just pulled the code and its 14 which says its the IACV and I just had that replaced a couple of months back. Its plugged in and I didn't unplug it or anything when I did the conversion. HELP!**

It sounds like it's cammed out at idle because the exhaust is dumping straight out the turbo.

you probably didnt do the iacv 3 wire to 2 wire conversion. your obd1 computer will not read the obd2 3 wire iacv which is located on you d16y7's throttle body. look up info on it......

Wouldn't it just be the base map on the chipped ecu that phearable included?

So to clarify, even though I have the conversion harness and the OBD 1 ecu, I still need to convert to the 2 wire IACV?

The link isn't working for me and I searched last night for the conversion and couldn 't find anything here or @ turboD16

Do I need to buy a new IACV for my car? or can I just buy the plug? Thanks guys.

get either a z6, y8 (must be from a 5 speed) or b7 manifold with the 2 wire iacv.

I unplugged the IACV and the idle was still messed up. My IAT sensor got broken and isn't plugged in since I just put in the turbo. Could this have anything to do with the problem? I put in a resistor just so it wouldn't be throwing a code. So I guess I will be looking of an 5spd y8 manifold for the time being.

3 things you need to do in order to get your vehicle running propeprly and safely:

1) 2 wire IACV conversion, 3 wire won't work with an OBDI ECU
2) Fix your IAT, this is an important sensor
3) Go to a tuner and have it tuned. A basemap is just that, a BASE you can use to idle and drive (NOT IN BOOST) to a tuner to be tuned. FWIW even a long, low-load highway drive can ruin pistons if it is lean enough. You should have either made provisions to have your tuner come to you or drive down on stock ECU and injectors then swap it over to the OBDI stuff there.

And FYI, OBDI doesn't care if you have a cat or not.
