On the stock gauge, if it goes up 3/4's thats overheating in my opinion. Rule out the possibility of a blown headgasket and do a pressure test.

 

pressure test ? is that the same as a compression test....i really dont think its a blown head gasket but i could be wrong....now last night she didnt over heat at all and i took the long way home and beat on her a little in some twists and turns temp gauge didnt move an inch so it seems like only when the sun is out and it humid as hell does it run warm soon i will get a temp gauge on it so i can find out for sure

 

You're probably ok if you can beat on it, and it doesnt get hot now. A coolant system pressure test is a hand pump w/ a gauge that screws onto your radiator neck and pressurizes it. It will show any pressure drop if theres a leak somewhere.
