Default Car is hard to start!

I have a Y8 and recently got my P28 converted from an auto to manual. Now when I try to start my car, it won't start. I have to prime my car for about 10 secs before it starts and dies again. So I give it gas to keep the revs up for a few secs. It will idle rough for about 5 secs and then be fine. Any ideas as to what is wrong?

I have my timing retarded a few degrees. I also heard that you are supposed to jumper the blue CEL harness while you adjust timing, but I didn't do that because I just read it somewhere yesterday. Any help is greatly appreciated!

TIA

Mike

I never jump any harness when I adjust timing...I don't see why you need to do anything liek that...

does it feels like a lack of fuel ?

No I don't think it's lack of fuel. I checked my fuel pressure regulator gauge and the pressure is still normal. I think it might be something from the auto to manual conversion. Someone said you should cut rp17 and rp18. It looks like they only cut rp17 and not 18. Could this be why?

Also, why do you need to jumper to adjust timing?

Properly convert your ECU to manual and see if that helps.

What do you mean by that? I sent it in to ag-eng.com aka b18c-ej1 on this forum.

Well I im'd b18c-ej1 and asked him about it. He said I needed to re-chip my ECU since auto and manual have different timing and fuel maps. Is this true?
