car is cutting out even before it hits boost????
ok this is kinda of weird. i had my car running awsome a few days ago. i did a semi good tune with crome and the wideband and everything looked good. i dont have a laptop yet to data log so its not perfect. so i having a problem when i was tuning that my car was cutting out. it ended up being my plugs were gapped to far and i was blowing out spark. i have a b18b so i gapped them at .025 and it ran awsome. so now today it started cutting out again really bad even just driving at 30kmh. it even stalled in the middle of the road twice and i ahve to let it sit for a few mintues before it will start again. i checked the plugs and they looked ok still having a gap of .025. does anyone know what else it could be?

well what do your plugs look like? normal, or are the super black or what? you said you tune wasnt perfect, but what does your wideband read? does it always cut out at the same rpm?

your dizzy might be going and you didnt have enough power to produce a good spark at a larger gap and when you regapped it the spark was able to bridge it untill it got so weak as to no be able to create a spart there either... does that make sense?

no it doesnt always cut out at the same rpm. the plugs look normal. they are not black. wideband reads 11.4-11.7 at wot from 6000-7000. a little leaner from 5-6000. maybe 12.5 ish.

no it doesnt. stock gap on an ls is like .041. i have 6 series plugs and runninga t 5psi and i have a gap of .025. everthing ran fine a few days ago. it was fast and no problems. they just yesterday it started acting up. also i check the timing and its at 16* at 800rpm. but its got a miss and its popping at idle but it still idles smooth.

I just had a similar problem it turned out to be the small rotor that controls the tdc sensor in the dizzy , the lock pin worked its way out and pushed the ignition rotor against the cap causing to cut out!
just take your cap off and check.
just take your cap off and check.
