Car is "missing" after putting turbo back on
ok here are all the details, I will try to sum them up all in one.
Car overheated two nights ago due to coolant leak. Didnt overheat TOO much, maybe 3/4 of the way.
Thermostat works, thermo fan switch works, fan motor works, NO overheating now.
Started the car up, and it sounded like I had a hole in my valve. Compression test yielded numbers all above 185 or so. None above 200.
You know the sound it makes when you have a hole in your valve? a REALLY deep purr kind of? Well it made that sound, and the car had no power. It would kind of "bog" when I gave it gas.
I am led to believe it is something with the ignition, seeing as how the "bog" is not constant...you can feel normal power sometimes.
NO CEL
I pulled the plugs, gapped fine, looked good. Little on the lean side, nothing to worry about
I checked resistance of the plugs, all within spec.
I took the rotor and dist cap off... Coolant was in dist cap (wtf...guess from my coolant leak) and the edge of the rotor looked a little burnt. Replacing as we speak (well, as you read this)
What could cause my motor to miss?
Cliff notes:
car misses sometimes, sounds like hole in valve...then doesnt miss
overheated last night
no cel
plugs fine
wires good
rotor burnt a little (replacing)
tiny deposits inside dist cap
vac lines good, fuel lines good
fuel pressure good (even though i didnt make it above like -10 vac)
edit: car is 95 gsr, drag 3 kit. brand new valvetrain (ferrea valves (did valve adjustment) portflow sprins and retiainers) with stock boost....45 bar spring

Yessssss what a sweet sound. I pulled the ECU fuse, put the new rotor and cap in..and let it idle for a while. turned it off, took it for a test drive.
it was the rotor and cap, i guess coolant got in there and made them all screwy. AWESOME thanks guys.
