You'll be just fine! I've been bosting my 10.6:1 JDM GSR motor at 11psi with no problems.

Ya, get a B18b and make less power with more boost on stock internals Tuning is key with a 10.5:1 compression motor. If you dont feel safe with a stock motor, a cheap alternative to building the motor is a thicker headgasket and some headstuds. Then throw some more boost at it with good results. ITR head flows really well and the internals are strong.

As everyone said its all in the tuning. For all these newbie questions can we just make one thread that says "Its all in the Tuning!" so we can link atleast 100 threads to it a day?

Yes but first you have to remove your altezzas and neon lights.

Whatever you like! plus its all about what you want. Like my setup its going to be a street setup and i like the 10.5:1 cuz i at least have some decent low-end power and still have my turbo to kick in later. thats how i think about it. Plus you can always put in 100octane and turn up the boost if you feeling sexy!

Dont listen to him. you can boost a R just get it tuned and you'll be fine.</TD></TR></TABLE>

My Boosted ITR motor make 370whp @ 13psi tuned off a Autronic. A friend of mine makes 410whp off a custom turbo @10psi only tuned off a AFC. Just as long you tune it you will be fine. Ohh yeah running this much psi requires you to atleast use C-16 mixed with pump gas or Torco additive.

yah it can handle boost but like the other guys said it's all about the tuning man. If you do a good job it will be just fine on 10-12psi

depends what turbo. if your running big turbo you wont get away with 10-12 psi for long IMO.

if you're just afrer peak numbers and don't care for it to last long time, then you can run 300 or even more hp on stock setup.. if you want it to last and still enjoy it, keep it in low 200's - thats just me..

and whatever hp you choose, such compression and stock pistons aren't very forgiving - can't have any mistakes/errors.
