Default Can I use 06 AN Stainless Steel lines for vacuum

I want to replace my vacuum lines with stainles steel lines an AN fittings. My problem is that I only get the fittings I need in 06 AN here in germany. For example the vacuum line from the compressor housing to the tial wastegate. The tial has M10x1 and my T3 super 60 has 1/8 NPT in it. I cannot find a 03 or 04 fitting with a 1/8 NPT or M10x1 thread. Fittings with 03 or 04 only come with UNF threads or M12 or bigger threads

Will it cause vacuum problems when IŽll go with 06 AN hoses?

I wouldn't see why it would create problems. You usually have more problems when you decrease the vacuum tube/hose size than when you increase the size. The only problems I can see are getting the right fittings and the cost.

What I'd suggest are some mail-order stainless braid kits to cover all your hoses.

check summit for fittings, they have a ton of 1/8npt to -3,-4 fittings. The also hve the 10mm x 1.0 fittings to -3/-4

the 1/8npt fitting will screw into the Tial M10*1 hole. I did it with some teflon tape and it works fine.

You can also use a 10mm banjo fitting to -3, these are usually used on motorcycle brake lines.

that is a good way to screw up the threads.

i used 6an on mine, it works great, tial recomends a large vac. line, the bov will work faster, i have added a boost control solinoid sence the pic was taken and used 6an on it too.

I wouldent advise anyone to do that. As the other guy said, they are not the same threads and you could ruin them easily.

I can use Russell Proflex hose right? The price isn't too bad for the proflex hose from Russell.

Have you done it? If you don't tighten it excessively, it will be fine! Put an 1/8npt next to an M10 by 1.0 and you'll understand.
I have seen many people do this with no problems. I had no choice because I didn't have enough hood clearance but I don't regret it.

Do you have a apexi boost solenoid? Which threads does it have? Also 1/8 NPT?

Where the heck are you guys finding the -6AN to 10mm x 1.0. I would really like to get some for my Tial BOV and Wastegate, but can't seem to find any conversions like that...???? I tried looking on Summit and Ebay... ZERO LUCK

The threads on the Apexi solenoid are 1/8 bpt. I used a 1/8 NPT finishing tap to clean up my threads.

ANplumbing.com is what I use to research PN's and then I order from summit.

ok short OT question. IŽve got already two 1/8 NPT to D06 fittings. I tried to screw one of theese fitttings into my AVCR solenoid but it wonŽt fit. I compared the thread with the one from the original fitting which comes with the AVCR and itŽs the same. It also has the same outer diameter so any idea whereŽs the problem???

mh but that much?? thereŽs no chance to screw the fitting into the solenoid. I donŽt want to damage or destroy the thread in the the solenoid :-(

its enough. a few thousandths is all it takes (im a cnc operator) it will screw in with a bit of force. try chasing the threads on the solenoid
