Default Can i run like this?

well its like this, i dont have money for chipped ecu, and obd1 conversion harness. So what i have now is my t3/t4 kit with fmu, and missing link. My wastegate is set at 8psi...my motor has forged rods, and low comp pistons. plus i have a wal bro 255 fuel pump. Do you think i can run like this for about 2 months, until i have money for all the stuff and time on the dyno? should i buy a fpr? in other words is it worth the money to save my motor. I know most of you guys dont think i should do this, but im dying, i want boost soo bad. Im not going to run it hard, just wanna see what its got. btw i have stock injectors. I hear of some ppl on here that have ran fmu's for years and there still running good, and ill only be running 8psi, low boost. What do you think?

Exactly, and once you get the feeling of boost you wont want to keep your foot off the gas.

i ran 3 years with an fmu, and my friends type r is still on one. dont go higher than 6-8 psi and no long 4th or 5th gear pulls.

You'll be fine for a bit, just don't increase boost. Plenty of setups have run fine with it before EPROM'd / Standalones became available. Just be responsible, and make sure that your connections, hoses, and lines are up to par.

There was a world of turbo hondas before Hondata/Uber/Crome/AEM..

its true that there was before uber and what not, but why risk smoking a cylinder with such cheap, great options out there. Specialy on a b motor, which is also built. If it was a cheap *** D, then i'd be more likely to say do it.

its cheap, but i need a obd1 chipped ecu...(150) or so...obd1 conversion harness (75) and time on the dyno...(250) or so...i dont plan on boostin hard in 4 and definately not 5th until tuned. after i get it on, all the money i make will be saved for the stuff i need in order to be on the dyno...will a fpr help me save my motor, or dont waste the money?

get a chipped ecu. See my sig if you want it done for a reasonable price. Much safer than a FPR.
