Default Cams for Turbo

Ok, i cant decide what cams to use, the engine is a b16a2.
if you know a better set that would work post them! i might not get the jun's cause of the high lift i heard that dosent help with a turbo.

Umm... odd how I've been told else where that ITR cams are not the best for turbo due to their greater lift and duration, both turbo no no's.

i was thinking of posting a thread like this.

guys..i have a turbo type r and i was wondering is there any more cams that would work better than the stock cams i have right now. ie. top fuel turbo cams ($2,200) i haven't heard of crower making one for a type r turbo so i'm reluctant to try any of the cams.

imo, the itr cams works good with the turbo, it's like having a sequential turbo! hehe once vtec comes in, you'll feel another push.

i am not at liberty to say what cams they are... but i will say some of the best turbo cams are the ones many people here say wont work... and i know this as 100% fact... y? iv seen many many race motors and know what cams are being used as well as other things... obviously people wont share whats in their cars many times for this reason... no one wants it get in the open... people have done their research and now keep it secret... thats half the battle though... to be faster... u dont want the guy next to being just as fast... u always want the edge

Never said they wouldn't work as there are plenty of turbo'd ITR's there, but the question is if it's the optimal cam.

Exactly. I think once tuned they would be the best combo, BUT not optimal for torque or street driving, but maybe for max HP.

There is nothing wrong with more lift with for turbo cams. You want the duration shorter to keep the overlap down (blows fresh boost right out the exhaust. Advance the exhaust and retard the intake to cut the overlap and you can make a lot of cams work for the turbo app. Doing this also gives you more valve to piston clearance.
